Who starts the check?

An adult parent or guardian enters their contact details and authorises the assessment. No email code or account is required to begin. The student can then answer the chess questions under the adult’s supervision. Reports are available in the original browser; opening a report from another browser requires email verification. Entering contact details does not independently verify age, guardianship or mailbox ownership.

What we save

Your name, email, phone number, browser-reported time zone, selected pricing region and activity level, saved answers, hints used, pause/finish status, result and consent record. Older assessments may also contain the age band, experience and contact preference that were previously requested. We also keep staff follow-up notes and delivery status. We do not request a child’s full name, email, school, date of birth, photograph, audio or video.

Why we use it

To provide your requested chess check and summary, review a suitable coaching starting point, and respond to the enquiry. This does not subscribe you to marketing. Authorised academy staff can review the record. Supabase provides production database storage, Vercel hosts the website, and our configured email service delivers academy completion notifications and optional report-access codes. The assessment does not send the student’s answers or parent contact details to advertising or analytics services.

How long we keep it

Assessment details, answers, results and notes expire after 30 days. Expired reports are unavailable immediately and removed by scheduled maintenance or staff cleanup. Production database backups may retain earlier copies until their configured backup period expires. Copies of summary emails in recipient inboxes are managed separately; deleting a website record does not remove already delivered messages. Admin and parent browser sessions expire after four and two hours respectively; optional report-access codes expire after ten minutes.

Your choices

You can ask to access, correct or delete the assessment by emailing info@signachess.com. We verify the requesting parent’s identity before releasing private records. You can also stop the assessment and request deletion. If you prefer not to use the online check, arrange a live assessment with the team.
